Prof. Dr. Bülent Aytaç was born in 1957 in Muş. He graduated from Muş Cumhuriyet Primary School in 1967, Ankara Bahçelievler Secondary School in 1970 and Ankara Cumhuriyet High School in 1973. In 1979, he graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine.

In 1984, he completed his medical specialization studies in Gazi University Faculty of Medicine, Department of General Surgery and he became a General Surgery Specialist. Later, he completed his military service in Gölcük Naval Hospital in 1986. Bülent Aytaç, who started his compulsory service in the General Surgery Clinic of the Ministry of Health Ankara Training and Research Hospital in 1989, received the title of Associate Professor in 1990. He became the Deputy Chief Physician of Ankara State Railways Hospital in 1989. He was appointed as the chief physician of the same hospital in 1992. In 2003, he was appointed as a lecturer to Gazi University Faculty of Medicine, Department of General Surgery. Since 2011, he has been the Head of Gazi University General Surgery Department. Dr. Bülent Aytaç has many scientific publications in his field in various national and international journals. Bülent Aytaç is married with two children and speaks English well.
